Xero’s New Invoicing Updates for Small Business Owners

You know that feeling when you finally get the hang of something, and then—boom—they change it up on you? Yes, us too. If you’ve logged into Xero recently, you might’ve noticed a new version of invoicing, which is replacing the classic.

Xero is officially retiring from the classic version on 20 November 2024, though users will gradually be defaulted to the new version from 2 September 2024—it’s out with the old and in with the new. But don’t worry, you can still switch back to the classic version until the final transition (…and yes, we’re here to break it all down for you and get you ahead of the curve!).

Here’s the scoop: the latest version of invoicing is built with the latest technology—featuring new customisable and automation tools, creating a flexible and scalable solution to help you send professional invoices that get you paid quicker.

What features can you expect?
The new update introduces email tools (including a live, side-by-side preview), an optimised email format to encourage faster payments, and the payment process has been simplified with fewer steps, making the entire experience more efficient.

Top features you’ll love
We know change can be a bit daunting, but many of the features you love from the classic version are already available in the new version such as:

  • Easily attached files from Xero’s library to your invoice

  • Detailed invoice history: track when an invoice was first sent and the email of which it was sent to

  • Save time on reoccurring invoicing with repeating draft invoice set up

  • Improved layout creating a better user experience

  • New features for an enhanced send and payment experience

Ready to make the switch?
With the new version now available, switch to gain access to the exclusive new customisation tools and features that will make your invoicing process smoother and more efficient than ever. So, what are you waiting for?
